Snapshot; 1,An informal photograph taken quickly.

2, A piece of information or short description that gives an understanding of a situation at a particular time

See the everyday world from new point of view. The ordinary and the everyday can be incredible if stop to look at it with fresh eyes. I try to look beyond the everyday and focus on the shape, colour and texture that is there in front of me.

For these images to feel like true snap shots I decided that they should be the result of what I captured using a smartphone rather than a DSLR camera. It is often too easy to dismiss photographs taken with a smartphone but the quality is no less than what we can often capture with a Fujifilm X-T30 et al. The photos found in this gallery have taken with an Iphone X and to gain greater artistic control I use a third-party camera app which allows me to control the shutter speed and ISO.

Snapshot is a new way of looking at the everyday world. The everyday world can pass us by and we often miss the simple and ordinary things that are around us. But there is no such thing as ordinary; everything can be extraordinary if we take the time to look at it from a different point of view.

Inspired by the Pop Art movement in the 1960's where artists like Andy Warhol experimented with the mass-produced images based on popular culture such as Campbells' soup tins and Coca Cola bottles.

The images of snapshot are not vast landscape vistas but are more in tune with small size postcards that can be viewed as a single image or displayed together to create an exciting montage of themes and ideas. These images are available in the size format and printed on card. If you are interested in purchasing these image then please contact me through email:
